Dr. Alma Fielder-Baker
Sis Baker was born in Phoenix, Arizona and raised in Fresno, California. She attended school in Fresno, California, and graduated from Edison High School. Later, she attended Fresno City College; has a Bachelor Degree and Masters Degree in Theology from Sacramento Theological Seminary in Sacramento, California. In May 2006, she received her Doctorate in Theology from St. John’s Theological Seminary in Modesto, Ca. In December 1997, she retired from the federal government after 25 years of service with the Social Security Administration.
In 1972, Sis Baker received salvation under the leadership of Pastor Joe Woods (dec’d) in Fresno California at Macedonia COGIC. Her mother Evangelist Mae Emma Fuller reared her in the COGIC. faith in which she received her missionary license. In 1985 she relocated to Modesto California where she became a member of Modesto Revival Center Church under the leadership of Rev. Bob Prunty. In 1995, under the leadership of Pastor Prunty she was elevated to the position of Assistant Pastor. On the local level, she has served in every capacity of the women’s work, especially the Sunday School department. She served faithfully as Assistant Pastor, Sunday School and Bible Study teacher at Modesto Revival Center Church. At the District level, she has been District Missionary to Supt. Willie Green (dec’d) by Supt. Harold G. Dacus; Assistant District Missionary, Dean of Education, Sunday School Superintendent. On the State level, she served as the State Sunday School Chair Lady for the California Northwest jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ. In December 2006 she relocated to Surprise Arizona and is currently a member of Antioch COGIC in Peroia, Arizona under the leadership of Elder Jonathan E. Logan.
Sis Baker is the wife of Elder Johnnie Frank Baker; the mother of four adult children; the grandmother of nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and two goddaughters. Rev. Baker loves the Lord and His people. It is her life's goal to be a faithful steward until death.
